Mineral : Gypsum
Gypsum is a soft sulfate mineral composed of calcium sulfate dihydrate. It typically appears white or colorless and can be easily scratched with a fingernail due to its softness (Mohs hardness of 2). Gypsum is widely used in construction for making plaster, drywall (gypsum board), and cement. It also plays a key role in agriculture as a soil conditioner. In its purest form, gypsum may form transparent crystals known as selenite, as well as fibrous forms like satin spar.
